  1. made this tonight and the family loves it.. Already had a request to try this with meatballs and to add mushrooms.. Delicious and super easy to make..

    1. That makes me so happy to hear! I love that your family is already thinking of ways to switch it up… that’s when you know it’s a winner.

Meatballs and mushrooms sound like such a great twist too. That would add even more flavor and make it extra hearty. I might have to try that version myself!

Thank you so much for making it and sharing that with me. I’m so glad it was a hit at your table. You will have to report back and let us know your favorite variations! 💛

Great recipe! One of my favorites and your take on it with the Stew Meat versus Ground Beef is perfect.

One funny comment on the recipe…5: Cook for 6-8 hours on low and do not lift the lid
6: When meat is falling apart , prepare the amish egg noodles.

How you going to know the meat is falling apart without lifting the lid? I fully understand, just like the comedy!

    1. 😂😂 okay you got me on that one!!

You’re absolutely right—there’s a little contradiction there. That’s the classic slow cooker struggle… “don’t lift the lid” but also “check if it’s done” 😅

Real talk though—try to leave it alone as long as you can (every peek lets heat out and adds cook time), and then toward the end of that 6–8 hour window, give it a quick check to see if it’s shredding easily. That’s your green light for the noodles 🙌

I love that you caught that—and I’m so glad you loved the stew meat swap! It really does take it up a notch 🤍

  6. This was so easy and so delicious! My family absolutely said to put it on the keeper list. I did double it because I have quite a bit bigger family than you have to cook for and I’m thinking that next time I might add a little bit of cream cheese in it
