- Time-Saving Efficiency: One of the greatest benefits of 5-ingredient dinners is their time-saving nature. With just a handful of ingredients, meal prep becomes a breeze. Gone are the days of scouring through lengthy recipes and hunting down obscure ingredients at the grocery store. Instead, busy moms can quickly assemble a delicious meal without sacrificing precious time that could be spent with family or catching up on much-needed rest.
- Streamlined Grocery Shopping: Simplifying meals to just five ingredients means streamlined grocery shopping. No more wandering aimlessly through crowded aisles or spending hours meticulously planning meals for the week. Busy moms can focus on purchasing essential ingredients, reducing both time and stress associated with grocery shopping. This also helps in sticking to a budget, as fewer ingredients often mean lower overall costs.
- Minimal Cleanup: Let's face it – after a long day of work, childcare, and household chores, the last thing any mom wants to deal with is a mountain of dishes. 5-ingredient dinners typically involve minimal cleanup, with fewer pots, pans, and utensils used in the cooking process. This means less time spent scrubbing and more time for relaxation or bonding with loved ones.
- Versatility and Creativity: Despite their simplicity, 5-ingredient dinners offer endless possibilities for creativity and customization. By experimenting with different combinations of ingredients and seasonings, moms can easily adapt recipes to suit their family's preferences or dietary restrictions. Whether it's a hearty pasta dish, a flavorful stir-fry, or a comforting soup, the versatility of 5-ingredient dinners ensures that mealtime never gets boring.
- Healthier Choices: Contrary to popular belief, quick and easy meals don't have to sacrifice nutrition. With a focus on fresh, whole ingredients, 5-ingredient dinners provide a convenient way for busy moms to prioritize their family's health without added stress. By opting for wholesome ingredients like lean proteins, colorful vegetables, and whole grains, moms can feel confident knowing that they're nourishing their loved ones with balanced and nutritious meals.
So mama, 5-ingredient dinners are a game-changer for us busy moms and families looking to simplify their lives without compromising on taste or nutrition. By embracing the magic of minimalism in the kitchen, moms can reclaim valuable time and energy, allowing them to focus on what truly matters – creating cherished memories with their families around the dinner table instead of cooking in the kitchen. As you know, it is my passion to help you with quick easy delicious meals so you can reclaim the table with your sweet family even in the busiest of nights. So here's to stress-free meal times, happy tummies, and more moments of joy in the midst of life's craziness.
Here is how I made the Honey Garlic Chicken.
Ingredients: Honey Garlic Chicken
- 1.5 lbs chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup soy low sodium
- 1 1/2 tbsp garlic minced
- 1/3 cup honey – we love to use Blue HIVE HONEY (you can use LORI10 to shop and save) and I used Orange infused honey this time, but regular honey is delicious too.
See how simple these ingredients are, you probably even have them in your kitchen at this very moment.
I used about 9 chicken thighs for our family of 6, but feel free to adjust to fit the needs of your family.
Instructions: Honey Garlic Chicken
Love how simple the ingredients are in this slow cooker meal and the instructions are just as simple too! This is a true dump and go slow cooker meal.
- In a bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients: honey, ketchup, garlic, and soy sauce.
As mentioned above, I used Pure, Raw and Unfiltered Orange Blossom infused honey in this dish and it was incredible! You can check BLUE HIVE HONEY OUT HERE and the rest of the plain and infused honeys. Make sure to enter LORI10 at checkout to save.
Arrange the boneless, skinless chicken thighs inside the slow cooker
- Then pour the sauce over the chicken thighs.
- Cover the Crockpot and cook on HIGH for about three hours, or on LOW for 4 to 5 hours.
- Once done you will want to make sure they are at 165 degrees and completely cooked. I like to flip and move the sauce around on the thighs. Honey Garlic Chicken is the best!
*Optional: If you would like to thicken the sauce, you can whisk a cornstarch slurry into the sauce about thirty minutes before the end of the cooking time.*How to Make a Cornstarch SlurryTo make the slurry for thickening, mix a tablespoon of cornstarch mixed with a tablespoon of cold water, to form a paste. Whisk this into your sauce inside the slow cooker, cover and continue to cook. The sauce will thicken up beautifully!
- Optional: Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve Honey Garlic Chicken warm
We love this dish with jasmine rice and sautéed vegetables. The orange blossom gave it an Asian flair so I used carrots and snap peas for the side sautéed vegetables. It was a great combo.
