Who doesn't love an easy throw together dessert and one the entire family will love? If you answered yes, then you must try this Root Beer Float Cake it is absolutely to die for delicious. It tastes just like an old fashion root beer but even bette, and did i mention it is only 3 ingredients too! WINNING!
If you love easy desserts like this one you have to try my sons very favorite cake. Fisher asks for this one every year for his birthday! It is called a Cherry Dump Cake HERE and it is so YUMMY, especially served hot with vanilla bean ice cream! YUM! Can you see an ice cream theme here? LOL As a crazy busy mama of 4, these easy throw together desserts make our once a week dessert after dinner extra special with little extra time and no stress on my end.
Ok back to the easy and delicious Root Beer Float Cake. I mean, look at how scrumptious this cake looks, and you could even add a maraschino cherry to the top!
As mentioned above, the only thing it might be missing is that little extra cherry on top for garnish!

Ok, here is how I put this Root Beer Float Cake together.
Ingredients: Root Beer Float Cake
- 13.25 oz yellow cake mix
- 12 oz root beer – I used sugar free
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
Instructions: Root Beer Float Cake
- Preheat oven to 350
- In a medium size bowl, add dry cake mix, can of root beer and mix well
I love these bowls pictured BELOW because they are a non slip bowl perfect for preparing all meals and desserts in the kitchen.
Once mixed well, add 1 pint of vanilla ice cream
- and combine well in batter until it makes thick batter. There may be some clumps and that is ok
- Once all ingredients are combined well add to a well greased 9X13 pan
- Bake in oven for 25 minutes until toothpick comes out clean
- Allow cake to cool and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Now it is time to enjoy- YUMMY!!
