Why You'll Love Hawaiian Roll Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

The Hawaiian rolls are really the secret here.

They're already soft, slightly sweet, and buttery, which makes them the perfect shortcut for easy cinnamon rolls. Once that brown sugar butter gets into all those little nooks and crannies, they become warm, gooey, and caramelized.

Then comes the pumpkin cream cheese icing.

Cream cheese, pumpkin purée, and cinnamon create a creamy fall-inspired topping that takes these Hawaiian Roll Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls to another level.

Best of all, there's no homemade dough involved!

How to make Hawaiian Roll Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls: a step-by-step guide

Step 1: Prepare the Rolls

Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Without pulling the individual rolls apart, carefully slice the entire pack horizontally through the middle.

Place the connected bottom half into your baking dish.

Step 2: Make the Brown Sugar Butter

Melt one stick of butter.

Add ½ cup lightly packed brown sugar and stir until well combined.

Now we're getting to the good stuff!

Step 3: Layer Everything Together

Pour approximately 75% of the brown sugar butter mixture over the bottom half of the Hawaiian rolls.

Spread it evenly so every roll gets some of that buttery brown sugar goodness.

Place the connected top half of the rolls back on.

Spread the remaining brown sugar butter mixture over the tops.

Step 4: Bake

Bake the Hawaiian Roll Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls at 350°F for approximately 20 minutes.

You'll know they're ready when the rolls are warm and golden and that buttery brown sugar mixture has caramelized.

Step 5: Make the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Icing

While your rolls are baking, combine the Philadelphia cream cheese, pumpkin purée, and a dash of cinnamon.

Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

Step 6: Frost and Serve

As soon as your Hawaiian Roll Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls come out of the oven, spread that pumpkin cream cheese icing generously over the warm rolls.

Let it melt into all those little spaces between the rolls.

Then pull them apart and serve while they're still warm.

SO GOOD.

Crazy Busy Mama Tip

Want those Hawaiian Roll Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls extra gooey? Make sure you spread that first 75% of the brown sugar butter mixture all the way to the edges before replacing the tops. It will melt down into the rolls as they bake and create those delicious caramelized bites underneath. And spread the pumpkin cream cheese icing on while the rolls are still warm so it gets slightly melty and works its way into every little crevice!
