Feeling Heavy, Defeated?
Haven't we all felt that way?
Do you ever have to be your own hype girl?
Talking yourself into doing something you don’t want to do just bc of the reward.
Reminding yourself…
If you work out you can eat this ice cream. Or maybe, in order to have enough energy to roll out of bed on a Monday morning you remind yourself that Friday will be here soon. Literally living for the weekend? Or … If you get to your goal then you treat yourself with “X”…fill in the blank!
Or maybe you are in pain?? Your encourage yourself saying “this is the worst is going to get” knowing full well it may not be just to make it through your situation. Or maybe in an intense work out and keep pushing through because you know the reward of crushing your goal is worth the pain. Or ladies if you have had a baby, it’s Like in labor you push throw because you remind yourself of the greatest reward.
Or at the end of the year when everything’s crazy chaotic and busy here remind yourself that summer is right around the corner!
What ever your particular situation may be or what you are trying to push through… we all just want to know that relief or help is on the way!

Purpose In Our Pain
I have never in my life wanted more purpose in my pain since I lost my amazing husband unexpectedly last spring! In my despair I NEEDED to know that my kids and I would make it! That this was the worst of the worst storm we would ever walk and that a light would be at the end of this terrible dark tunnel! I needed more purpose in that pain than ever before!
I know I was not alone, and I want to know You’re NOT alone … this is exactly what David did when he wrote the psalms.
We all want to know that our pain produces something more beautiful. Encouragement thot our darkest hour there is light …glimmer of hope.
If you read the psalms any you will know that David wrote to encourage himself through all his seasons and emotions even lamenting in his deepest darkest despair of Gods promises all throughout.
No wonder we want a happy ending to our story, God wired us this way!!
But how do we effectively put this into practice in our deepest darkest hour do we be our own hype girl?!
In scripture, it says we must hide the word in our heart…
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you” Psalm 119:11
To have this encouragement, you must memorize of verse two that you can call on to encourage yourself in the Lord.
I often recite this verse to remind me of God's promise and plan for my life.
“For I know the plans that I have for you” declares Lord, “plans to prosper you not to harm you, to give you hope and a future” – Jeremiah 29:11
Today make a commitment to hide the word in your heart so in your deepest hour you can encourage yourself to his promises. Don't look at digging into the word as a chore, rather a refresh in the spirit a necessary part of life. Make digging into the word a special moment, cozy up grab a cup of hot coffee or warm tea grab a fur baby and snuggle up to spend some time allowing God to refresh you in His spirit! Be Your Own Hype Girl by encouraging yourself in the Lord and what He proclaims and promises over your life.
