This Ghost cake is not only delicious but makes the cutest table centerpiece for all your Halloween festivities!
Friends, you know me—I am ALL about keeping things simple, fun, and memory-making, especially when the holidays roll around. 🎃👻 If you’ve been around here for a bit, you know this Crazy Busy Mama is not about perfection; I’m about those giggles in the kitchen, sticky fingers sneaking frosting, and memories my kids will still talk about years from now.
So let’s chat about this adorable (and crazy easy) Ghost Cake for Halloween! 👻 It’s one of those desserts that looks like you spent all afternoon in the kitchen—but really, it comes together in no time. (Yes, even if you’ve got a dozen other things going on that day, which… we know you do, mama!)
The best part? This ghost cake doubles as a centerpiece for your Halloween table. Set it out, light a few candles, and you’ve got instant festive vibes. Bonus: it’s a whole lot cheaper than those bakery cakes, and your kids will love being part of the process.
This spooky Ghost Cake dessert would be perfect paired with this Fall-O-Ween Jesus Mug!

How to Make Ghost Cake

How to make Ghost Cake: a step by step guide

Prepare the Cake
Start with your favorite store-bought chocolate cake as the base. Keep it chilled until you’re ready to decorate for a clean look.

Melt the White Chocolate
Place white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth.

Make the Ghosts
Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper.
Using a spoon, create ghost shapes with the melted white chocolate — think teardrop or oval shapes with a little “tail” at the top.
Let them set completely (you can pop them in the fridge for 5–10 minutes to speed this up).

Add Ghost Faces
Once the white chocolate ghosts are hardened, use the black decorating gel to add two eyes and a mouth to each ghost.
Let them dry for a few minutes so the faces set.

Assemble the Cake
Place the ghosts gently on top of the cake and around the sides for a spooky but cute look.

Serve and enjoy!
