Why I Went to Norway (And the Unexpected Way God Is Healing Me From the Inside Out)

I didn’t share everything when I left for Norway.

You saw the pictures. The views. The quiet moments tucked between long days.
But I didn’t tell you why I was really there… because honestly, I was still trying to process it myself.

Grief has a way of doing that.
It doesn’t just sit in your heart… it settles into your body.

And if I’m being really honest with you… These past months have taken a toll on me in ways I didn’t fully understand at first.

The exhaustion that sleep couldn’t fix. The inflammation. The brain fog. The feeling of just not quite being myself.

I kept showing up. Because that’s what we do, right?
We keep going for our kids. For our people. For the life in front of us.

But deep down, I knew…
something had to change.

A Door I Didn’t Expect

What I didn’t know is that God was already opening a door.

 

Many of you have known for years that I was part of It Works. That season taught me so much. It stretched me, grew me, and connected me to so many of you.

But what I didn’t see coming… was how that chapter would evolve.

That company has now merged into something entirely new.
A European-based health and wellness company called Zinzino… and I was invited to Norway to step into it before it even fully launches here in the United States.

And let me just say this…

This isn’t just another “thing.”
This feels different.

What Zinzino Is (And Why It Matters to Me)

Zinzino was founded by Norwegian entrepreneurs Hilde and Ørjan Sæle, and what drew me in immediately is their focus on something we don’t talk about enough:

The missing.

But we don’t always talk about how grief can settle into your physical body.

And I realized… I’ve been trying to carry all of this on my own.

Pushing through.
Ignoring what my body has been trying to tell me.

But maybe… just maybe…
God wasn’t calling me to push harder.

Maybe He was calling me to heal.

Why Norway Changed Something in Me

Being in Norway wasn’t just about a company.

It was about perspective.

It slowed me down.
It gave me space to breathe again.
And for the first time in a long time… I felt hopeful about what’s ahead.

Not because everything is fixed.
But because I finally feel like I’m moving in the right direction.

And Then… My Kids Said Yes

And this might be the part that means the most to me.

Ella and Kale are stepping into this alongside me.

And if you’re a mom… you understand why that hits so deep.

Because this isn’t just about business.
This is about legacy.
This is about healing as a family.
This is about building something together in a season that could have easily torn us apart.

Watching them say yes…
watching them find their own purpose in this…
has been one of the biggest blessings in the middle of so much pain.

Their “Why” Matters Too

One of the things I love most about this season is that it’s not just my story being written… it’s ours.

And each of them has their own reason for stepping into this.

Ella’s heart in this is so special to me.

She’s walking through her own season of becoming… of figuring out who she is, what she stands for, and how she wants to show up in the world. And what drew her in wasn’t just the opportunity… it was the deeper purpose behind it. The idea of helping women feel confident, supported, and strong again from the inside out. Watching her step into something that aligns with her voice, her faith, and her passion for encouraging others… it’s been really powerful to witness.

There’s something really special about watching your kids choose growth. Choose responsibility. Choose something bigger than themselves.

And Me… Still Becoming Too

And then there’s me.

Still learning.
Still healing.
Still figuring out what this next chapter looks like.

But for the first time in a long time…
I feel like I’m not just surviving it.

I’m stepping into it.

And I don’t step into things unless I truly believe in them.

This isn’t about going backwards.
This is about stepping forward… in a way that feels aligned, intentional, and rooted in something deeper.

I didn’t go to Norway just for a trip.

I went because something in me needed to change.

And I truly believe…
this is the beginning of healing I didn’t even know I needed.
