Honoring Quintin: A Father's Day Tribute Through Threads of Love
This Fatherโs Day hits different.
Last April, our world changed forever. My husband, Quintinโmy rock, the father of our four children, the man who led with faith, grit, and a heart of goldโwas called home to heaven unexpectedly. And even now, more than a year later, there are still moments where it doesnโt feel real. But as a family, weโve clung to each other, held tight to Jesus, and found healing in the most unexpected placesโlike reclaiming the table, shared stories, and worn-in t-shirts.

This year, my children and I decided to do something special. Something deeply personal. Each of us created a t-shirt design in honor of Q, and each one tells a storyโhis story, our story. This drop isnโt just about shirts. Itโs about legacy. Itโs about love. And itโs about keeping the voice of a father and husband alive in the most everyday, meaningful way we can: right on our heartsโฆ and our sleeves.
Let me share with you the heart behind each designโfrom mine, and from each of my kids.

KALE: “DONโT SUCK” โ THE REMINDER THAT REALLY MEANT EVERYTHING
Kale, my oldest, was always the one who felt the weight of performance. Whether it was Friday night football lights or a packed Saturday baseball tournament, he put so much pressure on himself to be the best. And Qโhe knew just what to say, in that classic dad way that cuts through all the nerves and perfectionism.
โDonโt suck.โ
That was his line. Straightforward. Hilarious. Honest. But oh, it meant so much more than it seemed on the surface. It was his way of saying, “Don't let the pressure steal your joy. Don't forget who you are. Play your game and leave it all out thereโjust do your best.”
Kaleโs shirt, bold and simple, reads โDonโt Suckโ in big letters, and underneath, itโs anchored with Qโs favorite Bible verse: John 3:17 โ โFor God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.โ
This verse meant everything to Quintin. He was a man who didnโt lead with condemnation, but with compassion. He didnโt expect perfection, but purpose. He always reminded Kaleโand all of usโthat weโre not defined by our mistakes, but by the grace we carry. That verse, combined with his favorite phrase, reminds us that weโre free to show up, to play hard, to love deeplyโฆ and to let go of the rest.
This shirt is Kaleโs tribute to his dadโs voice in the stands, his calm before every storm, and the man who showed him how to walk out his faith in cleats and clearness of heart.

ELLA: โFOR SUCH A TIME AS THISโ โ A DAUGHTER CALLED INTO PURPOSE
Ella is our oldest daughterโcreative, thoughtful, and tender-hearted. Sheโs always felt things deeply, and over the last year, sheโs wrestled with big questions about identity, calling, and what her place in this world looks like now that her dad is gone.
But Q never let her wander too far in her doubt. Every time she questioned her value, he pointed her back to a single verse:
Esther 4:14 โ โAnd who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?โ
That was her verse. Her dad told her that over and over again: โElla, you were made for this moment.โ He saw her strength even when she didnโt. He saw her potential when all she felt was pressure.
Ellaโs shirt carries that verse proudly, alongside a crown and a small, meaningful โQโ woven into the design. Itโs feminine, faith-filled, and full of gritโjust like her. She says this shirt isnโt just fabric, itโs her armor. A way to wear the words that lifted her in her lowest season.
This oneโs for every girl wondering if sheโs enough. For every daughter unsure of her place. And for every father who once whispered truth that echoes long after heโs gone.

FISHER: โGET AFTER ITโ โ A BLUEPRINT FOR LIFE
Fisher is my youngest son. The one who got to work side-by-side with his dad the most. He was Qโs little shadow at Conway Family Properties. From digging holes to hauling lumber, Fisher learned what real work looked likeโand he loved it. But more than that, he loved the man who stood beside him.
Before every job, Q had a mantra. We all heard it a thousand times: โGet after it.โ
It became a household phrase. Sometimes serious. Sometimes silly. Always classic Q. Fisher decided that would be the phrase he carried forwardโhis badge of honor and memory.
His shirt reads โGet After It,โ and beneath it, the verse Colossians 3:23 โ โWhatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.โ
That verse perfectly reflects how Q lived. He believed in doing things the right way, even when no one was watching. He showed us all that hard work is a form of worship. That diligence builds more than wallsโit builds character.
Fisherโs shirt is for the workers. The builders. The ones who grind it out with integrity. Itโs a reminder that work, when done with heart and for the Lord, becomes something holy.

LILY: โALL STAR BREAKFASTโ โ LOVE SERVED SUNNY SIDE UP
Lily is our youngest, and she was definitely her daddyโs girl. One of their favorite things to do together? Go to Waffle House. Just the two of them. Some hashbrowns, maybe a waffle, and a cup of coffee that was far too strong for a little girlโbut she sipped it anyway because it made her feel grown-up and close to her dad.
Their breakfast dates were sacred. It wasnโt about the foodโit was about the time. The laughter. The deep talks. The space he made for her.
Lilyโs shirt is an โAll Star Breakfastโ design that looks just like their favorite meal. Every detailโextra crispy hashbrowns, white plates, a coffee cup with a little heart-shaped โQโ on itโwas crafted with so much love. And under the food? The words:
โAn Invitation ~ Revelation 3:20โ
Revelation 3:20 says: โBehold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.โ
Thatโs what breakfast was with Qโa daily invitation to commune. To show up for one another. It mirrored our Heavenly Fatherโs heart: time spent, hearts opened, no distractions. Just love served warm.
This shirt isnโt just cuteโitโs sacred. It honors the quiet, steady love of a father who showed up again and again, one breakfast at a time.

LORI: โIT IS WELL WITH MY SOULโ โ A MOTHERโS MANTRA, A FAMILYโS FLOWERS
And nowโฆ my shirt.
This one was the hardest to make. Because it comes from a place that still aches. But itโs also the most healing piece of clothing Iโve ever held in my hands.
The night Q passed, he came home and did something he had never done before. He hung his hat on the cross by the front door. That cross has a sign above it that reads: โIt Is Well With My Soul.โ
I didnโt know that would be the last time I'd see him. But somehow, that momentโhis hat on that cross, those words above itโbecame the image that anchors me. That holds me up when the waves come crashing.
So my design is simple and soft. The words โIt Is Well With My Soulโ centered in calm, steady lettering. And around them? The birth flowers of our family: Narcissus for December. Poppy for August. Lily of the Valley for May. Blooming together, rooted in shared love.
This shirt is my testimony. A declaration that even in the deepest grief, peace is possible. That God is still good. That we are still together, somehow, even though Qโs no longer physically here.
ONE LEGACY, MANY THREADS
Each of these shirts tells a different story. Each of my kids put their whole heart into their designsโnot just to remember their dad, but to carry him forward. And me? I just feel beyond honored to be their mama. To have loved a man worth honoring this deeply. And to keep his legacy alive, not just in words or photos, but in wearable, shareable reminders of faith, family, and fatherhood.
If youโre reading this and youโve lost someone too, I hope our shirts remind you that grief and gratitude can live together. That laughter still shows up in the middle of tears. And that legacy is never really lostโit just finds new ways to speak.
So this Fatherโs Day, weโre not just mourning. Weโre moving forward with love.
Weโre holding tight to purpose.
Weโre showing up for breakfast.
And weโre believing, even stillโฆ
If you made it this far, thank you for sitting with our story. Thank you for loving and remembering Q with us. And if any of these designs speak to your heart, know that youโre not just wearing a shirtโyouโre wearing a piece of our familyโs love.
