Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 Premade Refrigerated Pizza Dough
  • 1/2 Cup Marinara Sauce
  • 1 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 Bag Pepperoni

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F and grease a muffin tin (this helps the pizza roses hold their shape).
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
  • Cut the dough into long strips about 2 inches wide.
  • Spread pizza sauce lightly down the center of each strip (don’t overdo it).
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  • Layer pepperoni along the top edge of the strip so half of each slice hangs over the edge (this creates the “petals”).
  • Fold the bottom half of the dough up over the filling and press gently to seal.
  • Roll the strip tightly from one end to the other to form a rose shape.
  • Place each rose into the muffin tin to keep the shape while baking.
  • Optional: Lightly brush or spray the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and/or garlic powder.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  • Cool 3–5 minutes, then remove from the muffin tin and serve warm (marinara for dipping is amazing!).

Notes

  • Dough options: Crescent dough creates softer, fluffier pizza roses, while classic pizza dough gives a more traditional, chewy bite. Both work beautifully for Valentine’s Day Pizza Roses.
  • Don’t overfill: A light layer of sauce and cheese helps the roses keep their shape and prevents leaking while baking.
  • Pepperoni placement: Letting the pepperoni hang slightly over the edge creates the realistic “rose petal” look once rolled.
  • Make-ahead friendly: Pizza roses can be assembled up to 8 hours in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator until ready to bake.
  • Kid-friendly swap: For younger kids or picky eaters, skip the pepperoni and make plain cheese pizza roses.
  • Serving tip: Valentine’s Day Pizza Roses are best served warm and pair perfectly with marinara sauce for dipping.
  • Reheating: Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for best texture—avoid the microwave if possible.
