Shortbread Cherry Bonbons

Preheat Oven
Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Make the Dough
Cream butter and powdered sugar until fluffy.
Mix in vanilla, then gradually add flour and salt.
If dough is too soft, chill for 15 minutes.
Wrap the Cherries
Flatten 1 Tbsp dough in your palm.
Place a maraschino cherry in the center and wrap dough around it to form a smooth ball.
Ensure no cherry juice seeps out.
Bake
Arrange on baking sheet, 1 inch apart.
Bake 12–15 minutes or until bottoms are lightly golden.
Cool completely before glazing.
Glaze (Optional)
Mix powdered sugar, milk (or cherry juice), and almond/vanilla extract.
Drizzle or dip cooled cookies for a glossy finish.
