Oreo Apples - back to school cookies

Absolutely adorable back to school treats to make with your kiddos!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 14.3 oz package Oreo cookies
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
  • Red candy melts
  • Mini pretzel sticks for stems
  • Green M&M’s or green candy for leaves

Instructions
 

  • Crush the Oreos - Blend the entire package of Oreos into a fine crumb (use a food processor if possible).
  • Mix in Cream Cheese - Add softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and mix until it forms a dough-like texture.
  • Form Balls - Use a measuring spoon or cookie scoop to keep them uniform in size. Roll into balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Chill - Set the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up the balls.
Add Stems - Melt a small amount of red candy melts. Dip the tip of a mini pretzel into the chocolate and press into the top of each ball as the apple stem.
Coat with Red Chocolate - Melt the remaining red candy melts. Dip each chilled ball completely into the melted chocolate and place back on the parchment paper.
Add Leaves - While the coating is still wet, press a green M&M on top next to the pretzel to resemble a leaf.
Set & Serve - Let them chill again until the chocolate is set. Enjoy your adorable Oreo apple treats!
