Ingredients

  • 13.25 yellow cake mix
  • 10 tbsp butter
  • 42 oz blueberry pie filling

Optional Ingredient

  • 2 cups blueberries fresh
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven 350
  • Bring oven safe skillet (I use a cast iron) to medium heat with 2 tbsp of butter in the skillet
  • Once melted pour in two cans of blueberry pie filling
  • *if you are adding fresh blueberries you will do this step now and smooth them out on top
  • Take a yellow cake mix and pour over the top of the blueberries and take hand and smooth it over to over all the blueberries
  • Take frozen stick of butter and grate it over the cake mix covering as much as possible. I did this with one stick, but think you would get more coverage with 1 1/2 sticks of butter.
  • optional: sprinkle with cinnamon on top
  • Place skillet in preheated oven at 350 for 45 mins.

Notes

Don't have a frozen stick of butter, you can use a regular stick just cut it in pads and place over the top of the cake mix covering all you can.
Don't have an oven safe skillet like a cast iron? You can make this in a 9X13 oven safe dish as well, layering all the ingredients just like you would in the skillet.
For quick easy dump cakes you can make at any time make sure to have on hand pie filling, cake mix and butter and with those 3 ingredients you can virtually make just about any delicious dump cake
